MIC – VIS, 2022 HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY HELD!

Over 150 participants from 17 countries, 109 papers presented, interesting scientific discussions, inspiring plenary speakers, student photo exhibition, exciting concerts, an excursion around the island, a gala dinner in the beautiful scenery of Fort George, and much more were part of the 4th international scientific conference MIC - Vis, 2022, which was successfully held on the island of Vis, Croatia, from 14 – 17 September 2022. The conference was organized by the VERN’ University and Institute of Social Sciences Ivo Pilar, under the high patronage of the President of the Republic of Croatia and the patronage of the Town of Vis.

The conference opening was held in the atrium of the Archaeological Museum where the participants are greeted by the conference organizers and partners. The musician Maša Ljotić Plichta performed a few violin compositions and provide a gentle and relaxing atmosphere while the pupils of high school Vis prepared delicious local food and drinks for conference participants.

During the two days of the conference over 150 participants presented 109 abstracts in 14 sessions where many interesting topics had been discussed. Two respectable keynote speakers, professor emeritus Frano Barbir from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Split, and doctor Mladen Merćep from the Department of Translational Medicine Children's Hospital Srebrnjak, Zagreb, presented interesting insights about Sustainable energy supply for the islands and Cell-based cancer immunotherapies during their plenary sessions.

As a final of the conference participants enjoyed the gala dinner which was held in the amazing interior of Fort George, surrounded by beautiful scenery and an incomparable view of the sea. Neno Munitić, a guitarist with many awards and recognitions, provides a charming atmosphere during the concert which was held before the gala dinner.

On the last day of the conference participants relaxed during excursions around the island of Vis under the guidance of the local guides where they found interesting facts about the island and its rich history.
